The first Shropshire Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards will be presented at a glittering ceremony on October 3rd, at the Mercure Telford Centre Hotel.
 
The event will be held in front of the Shropshire Business Live TV cameras, and the ticket price includes a three-course meal, and post-event live musical entertainment.
 
Tickets cost £55 plus VAT, or £500 plus VAT for a table of 10.

Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin has never had its own apprenticeship awards . . . until now!

New for 2024, this brand new competition shines a light on star apprentices, and the companies which proudly employ them.

The winners will be announced at a glittering presentation evening in October.

The awards ceremony will be filmed and streamed by Shropshire Business Live TV.

The Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards celebrate outstanding apprentices, and their employers, and are FREE to enter.

There are categories for small, medium, and large firms, plus a wide range of individual categories.

An overall champion apprentice for Shropshire, and a champion for Telford & Wrekin, will also be selected from all the entries.

It’s a celebration of the brightest and best apprentices in the county, and the businesses which go the extra mile to support the next generation of skilled staff.

Who can apply?

  • To qualify for an individual award, candidates must be either a current apprentice, or have completed an appenticeship within the past two years, with a company based in either the Shropshire, or Telford & Wrekin local authority areas.
  • To qualify for a company award, businesses must have at least one operational base in either Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin, and employ current or past apprentices.

THE AWARDS NIGHT - HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The awards night will take place at the Mercure Telford Centre Hotel, Forge Gate, Telford, TF3 4NA on Thursday October 3rd

There will be a drinks reception from 6.30pm, with the event presentation starting at 7.15pm.

It will include a three-course sit-down meal. Menu to follow soon.

The suggested dress code is smart casual – no jeans or trainers please.

No, if you are finalist or sponsor, your seats are already allocated to specific tables. 

And if you have purchased tickets online, or made specific requests, they have been taken into account. 

A table plan will be available to view at the pre-event drinks reception.

The awards presentations are due to finish around 10.15pm. This will be followed by an hour of live music entertainment. The event is due to close around 11.30pm.

All finalists have already been asked to supply a photograph, which will be shown on screen when their category is featured. Please ensure this is with us no later than August 31.

Each category winner will be invited onto stage to receive their trophy, when official photographs will be taken with our sponsors. Winners will then be invited to be interviewed by Shropshire Business Live TV.

Finalists and winners will all receive commemorative certificates, which will be available for collection from the back of the hall at the end of the night.

Yes, we’d be delighted for you to take pictures with certificates and/or trophies, and video to promote the event. 

An awards photo backdrop will be available in the bar. Please share all your pre and post-event coverage using the hashtag #STWAA2024

Yes, there will be representatives from broadcast and print media in attendance to cover the event. They may want to interview finalists and winners.

Highlights from the evening will be available shortly after the ceremony on the Shropshire Business Live TV YouTube channel.

Yes, each finalist (individual and company) receives 2 free tickets – that’s one for themselves, and another for a plus-one.
